The technological collaboration between Blink Charging Hellas and Taxiplon, through which professional electric taxi drivers have the opportunity to access high-quality and advanced technology charging services, constitutes the starting point for promoting electric taxis throughout the Attica basin.
In particular, the two companies join forces to offer professional taxi drivers, Taxiplon subscribers, the ability to charge their vehicles at the blink network at cheaper rates.
The first electric taxi charging station will be located next to the Taxiplon head offices in Nea Ionia and Blink Charging Hellas will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and after sales support. At the same time, the station in question will meet the charging needs of the first electric taxi of the taxiplon fleet with the ultimate goal of serving all the taxiplon electric taxis-members in the future.
This collaboration envisages that in the future the “green” electric taxi charging network will be extended to other professional vehicle-taxi ranks, not only for professional drivers to get around Athens without any problem, but also to use power from renewable energy sources to charge their vehicle’s battery.
Taxiplon breaks ground in the field of transport coordination services since with the introduction of the first electric vehicle in Greece to its fleet, thereby taking the first step toward reducing pollution and noise in the Attica basin.
Blink Charging Hellas focuses on developing an urban charging model aimed at addressing climate change by reducing transport-generated greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing green mobility in Greece.
This new collaboration paves the way towards an environmentally-friendly change in the field of urban transport and may be the start of a new age for those who engage in the same industry.
Mr Yiannis Papatsiros, Business Development Manager at Blink Hellas stated that, “It is with great pleasure that we welcome the collaboration with Taxiplon, whose objective is to provide superior quality charging services to professional electric taxi drivers.
The Blink network is constantly growing, thereby offering security and peace of mind to all drivers.
At the same time, through this collaboration, we will work together towards ensuring truly green, clean energy for charging and the mobility of electronic taxis.”
Mr. Nicholas Nikolaou, CEO at Taxiplon stated the following about the collaboration.
We are extremely proud that Taxiplon S.A. is joining forces with Blink, one of the largest electric vehicle fast charger manufacturing and installation companies in the world, to meet the needs of the new fleet of electric taxis which we were first to introduced to the Greek market at the end of 2020, in the best possible way.
With this strategically important collaboration, we offer our subscribers, owners of electric taxis, access a vast fast-charging network at the most advantageous terms.
It is worth pointing out that our goal is to supply energy using 100% renewable energy sources throughout the Blink network, thus ensuring significantly reduced pollutant emissions for the Taxiplon electric taxis, thus paving the way towards creating a purely “green” taxi fleet.
After thanking the Taxiplon and Blink executives for the effort that they put into to make this collaboration possible, I would like to invite the professional drivers to contact us to learn about the benefits of e-mobility in the taxi industry and to become members of Taxiplon, the most dynamically and technologically developing company in the taxi industry!
